How did I, Allie Wickam, get to the point where I decided to be a virtual assistant? It all began in Evansville, Indiana. I had a pretty typical childhood. I was either at school, girlscouts, competing in a clogging contest, doing something crafty, or working with my dad at the family business. Being so close to the daily operations of a business, I was taught to work hard and work accurately. Do you remember the kid that decided to sell girl scout cookies to businesses, instead of door-to-door, because they knew they would purchase in larger quantities? Yeah, that was me. Life was all fine and good until my 6th grade life was uprooted in a matter of three days. My family moved to Fort Collins, Colorado and my parents divorced. At this point, I decided it was time to start my journey of self discovery and go to find my calling, from the basement bedroom of my dad’s townhome.
Being a malleable child, I watched my father, the entrepreneur, in awe as he frequently would create a new business and drive them into success. This showed me in-depth process of a startup and made me gravitate towards having a meaningful, family-like venture of my own. Since then, my professional life has run the gamut—from facepainting for an expressive art therapy company to managing a hotel. What it all has in common is my positive energy and passion for happy clients. I have been known to take on more than assigned with pride, and bring order to chaos while keeping a smile on my face.

This passion did not randomly arise. I have been driven towards organization and success since grade school as I would sort my grandmother’s closet by length of sleeve and color.
